IERC Holiday 2011
The children of IERC were especially blessed this holiday season, beginning with a wonderful week-long break from school during the
Thanksgiving holiday. Once again Krikorian Premiere Theatres treated the
children and staff to “Arthur Christmas” along with popcorn, candy and
Sprite! The kindness of Krikorian has been a blessing for the children, and it
has become tradition for them to go to the movies on Thanksgiving Day.
The children then enjoyed a three-week winter break. They went on lots of outings and participated in different activities. We had our annual Board of Directors Christmas Party at the Burrage Mansion in Redlands on December 13, 2011. This was a spectacular event with lots of fun, food and, of course, Santa Claus! The children enjoyed making crafts and participated in a play that was written and directed by our Facility Social Worker Lorraine. Many family members and special supporters of the children also attended, making it a memorable evening. We can’t thank our Board of Directors and faithful supporters enough for making this Christmas one to remember for some time to come!
Crafton Hills College AGS students once again hosted their annual
Christmas Party for the children on December 16, 2011. Crafton Hills
College has hosted this party for the children for over 20 years! Crafton
Hills AGS have been faithful supporters of the children and this year was no
exception. The children enjoyed a dance presentation, gingerbread house
decorating, piano entertainment, and presents with Santa Claus, Mrs.
Claus, and an elf to help pass the gifts out. AGS Advisor Mr. Bahner and AGS
President Kayci Glass went above and beyond this year and each child got
their wish list fulfilled. Awesome!
Ms. Judy Lewis and members of the Church on the Hill came out to our
facility and visited with the children, bringing them gifts and pizza. They
spent several hours hanging out, playing games, and providing the children
with cherished fellowship!
Grand Terrace Woman’s Club donated several toys and games for the children to open Christmas morning!
Sam’s Club managers from various stores in the area, coordinated by Michelle, visited the facility, bringing with them food, games, and presents for the children. It was great to see all the positive interaction from these kind individuals! The children really enjoyed the visit and wanted them to come back soon.
